Flogger

Category: Gear

A flogger is a handle carrying many tails, or falls. Because force is shared across every tail, a flogger delivers a deep thuddy impact instead of the sharp line a cane or crop leaves, and it is much more forgiving of imperfect aim. Weight and material set the character: soft deerskin is gentle, heavy oiled leather is thumpy, and rubber or synthetic falls bite. Floggers are usually landed on the back, buttocks and thighs, keeping the tail ends off the kidneys and away from the wrap around the ribs.
